On my old MC Ford 351 HO (GT40 heads), I had an Edelbrock performer intake, and it was a very nice mid range torque bump. It added height, however (about 1"). So check your clearance and compatibility with the Volvo.

Not sure which version of that motor you had, I've seen 2 versions of OMC's one with 250hp and another with 300hp. The 250 has 19lb injectors which are orange, the 300 should have 24lb injectors which should be blue. I would also expect the 300 to have GT40 heads and a different cam. Just like the carb'd boats, GT40's or GT40p's would be a nice upgrade with a Performer/Performer RPM or Stealth intake depending on what will fit in the budget and under the hood.
