    '02 SN w/Apex 5.7 not starting

My boat was running fine before winter layup and has been stored in my garage since Nov. Last weekend I put a new head unit in and was going to take it out today but couldn't get it to fire. It was turning over just fine but wouldn't fire. Not sure why. I listened for the fuel pumps but didn't hear anything. Checked the 15a fuse and it was fine. Is there any wiring in the helm by the radio that I could have jiggled loose while putting the new HU in? Already checked the lanyard and it is connected good. Im stumped. All other electronics are functioning properly. PP solenoid clicks and activates before turning over. Engine just won't come to life. I did put ethanol treatment in before layup. Also I checked the Schrader valve on the FCC and there is fuel present although I did not put a gauge on it yet to see what psi.

Double check that it is in neutral, although normally will not crank if in gear. I would still check fuel pressure and if good check for spark. Sorry, not much help. I would triple check the kill switch.

Check for spark/fuel pressure. Swap some of the relays around to make sure the fuel pump relay isn't bad. They will crank if the ECM doesn't have power because they aren't on the same circuit. Like when the GT-40 fuse by the battery goes bad they will crank all day but the fuel pumps won't prime which is a tale tale sign.

When you said you checked the lanyard, do you mean the lanyard is connected to the kill switch or do you mean you checked the wiring on the kill switch? That would be my first guess (i.e., that you knocked a wire loose on the kill switch). If connected, you may want to temporarily bypass/jump the kill switch to confirm that that is not the culprit. And make sure the lanyard is in fact connected to the kill switch, which you probably already did... but just in case.

She's aliiiiiiiiive! And the winner is.....Chexi! Thanks for the help guys. I guess I should have taken the extra few minutes to pull the switch out of the helm to double check. Kind of hard to go by feel. It was just not making connection but was still attached by the silicone that was all over the back of it. Quick 2 minute fix and the pumps both kicked right on. Too bad it ruined our first outing yesterday but I got a lot of work done around the yard and it was a free fix so I can't complain too much.
