    2002 SAN Impeller Replacement

I have pulled the boat out of storage and have started to get it ready for summer again. I need an oil change and some other stuff like that. I have also decided to replace my impeller this year. Does anyone have any guidance or direction on how to do this on a 2002 SAN? Thanks!

Which engine? There are some good threads on it here, but it depends on whether you have a GT40 or the Excalibur.

Either way, it's basically just taking out some bolts, pulling the pump apart, putting in a new o-ring and impeller (and paper gasket if you need it) and putting back together. Make sure the belt it tight when done.

Most important - if you have a GT40, mark the top of both sides of the pump. It is possible to reassemble this one upside down, and if you do, it won't pump water into the engine. Monitor your engine temp anyway for a bit when you go out next to be sure you put it in the correct way.

Note: on My GT40, I find it a lot easier to unhook one end of the hose (top side of pump) from the pump when putting the replacement impeller in.

Or do you have the apex? I do in my 02 San and have been sent the wrong impellar twice.
