Buffing pads help

Hi All,
I'm about to begin the process of wetsand/buffing. I've bought all the 3M products needed but I'm trying to figure out which kind of pads to buy. Any help would be awesome. Do I need different kinds of pads for each different product.
I bought the super duty rubbing compound, the perfect-it II rubbing compound, and the finesse-it II.

Yes you will need different pads for the different steps of rubbing and polishing. Autogeek.net is a great place for info and product that I use. Here is just some of the pads they offer, but it will get you pointed in the right direction. http://www.autogeek.net/lake-country...-pro-pads.html They also have forums for cars, boats, etc that can be helpful knowledge for what products, pads, techniques to use as well.

I do a lot of buffing and like the wool pads from harbor freight for compounding, black foam for minor scratches, yellow foam for polishing. They are cheaper than 3m pads. I think $10/12 each. I typically don't reuse them the wool pads a second time. Also I prefer buff magic and pro polish.

We have a Napa store and a Carquest and both carry a large variety of pads, and most of the time they will have a knowledgeable person behind the counter that can help you.

#2 for the wool pad, mine is yellow. I have a foam pad too but never use it. My Makita 9227 buffer is awesome with it's constant speed controller.
