    2005 210 SANTE..ballast??

Does anyone know how the ballast system on 2005 210 is supposed to work as installed by the factory? I am having trouble with my starboard tank pumping out. Is the system supposed to pump until full or pump until dry...and then automatically shut off the pumps?? My port and center tank pumps do not shut off automatically and the starboard pump won't pump out about 50% because the gauge falsely shows empty.

They do not switch on/off based on gauge level. It is a time presetting.(that cannot be changed)
If they do not empty/fill properly (most probably) the pump impellers are worn out.
each pump is configured so they work a bit longer than a full load or unload

I would guess the impellers as well.

2005 still used areator pumps from the factory. They didn't change to impeller pumps till 2006. They do not automatically turn off. They run till you manually turn off. There is a separate fill and empty pump for each tank. A solid light on the button means "filling" and blinking light means "empty". There are cable actuated valves that shutoff the fill lines only to the left under the dash. There will also be ball valves at each fill line right where they mount the the hull for safety shutoffs. The gauges have nothing to do with the pumps. They are merely for seeing how full the tanks are. If the gauges are malfunctioning the pumps still work as normal.

Only one pump per tank in my system....I changed the impellers to the improved ones when I bought the boat last year. The port and center thanks fill and drain just fine but the pumps stay on until I manually shut them off...the starboard pump works erratically based on the gauge... it has some tie in to the gauge...I know this because if I mess with level sending wires from the tank it will turn the pump off and on. Confused!

I haven't heard of an 05 coming with Jabsco style pumps factory, but I guess it's possible you have a late year model that got 06 style pumping.

I have no idea why it would seem to work with the water level sender. They don't even do that now, much less back in 2005.

Yea...my boat was built in late 05 so I'm thinking it has the 06 system since it has the single jab pumps. So how is the 06 system supposed to work?? LOL! My pumps will pump in fill or drain all day long until you shut them off!

To the best of my knowledge that is how they are supposed to work. They didn't put timers on the pumps till 07-08 i don't think. I do believe Jabsco has a overload or dry run automatic shutoff, but I could be wrong.
