Newbie here. Just purchased a 2000 SS. I noticed that after locking the keypad, the light to the left of the start button stays lit. I know I need to install a battery switch, but in the meantime should I be worried about battery drain? It has been on for a full week. Am I leaving out a step when shutting down?

others can chime in...yeah, the step you are leaving out is turning your perko switch to 0. that light just means power to the key pad. -
A 2000 should have an On/Off/Bilge switch. Where should the switch be? I have looked at the drivers kick panel and there is no switch. Could it be in another place?Comment

The On/Off/Bilge switch did not become available until 2001.Comment

My 2000 SAN was built in June of 2000 and it has the on/off/bilge switch in the driver's kick panel. It ought to be pretty easy to install one or a perko switch into a boat that doesn't have one.Rob

I have the on/off/bilge switch in my '02 SN but I have also found that if I enter my code again and then hit the stop button that light goes out even with the toggle in the all on position. You may want to try that.2002 Ski Nautique 5.7 GM ApexComment

My 2000 Sport must have been an early build. I did not have the on/off/bilge switch, but I did have a perko switch installed.Comment

Sorry for the thread jack but you can figure out what month/year your boat was built by looking at the HIN. The first 3 characters are the manufacturer (CTC=Correct Craft), the next 5 are the serial #, then there is a single letter representing the month followed by one number representing the year of manufacture, and lastly there will be two digits indicating the model year. My boat is CTC 12345 I8 99 which means it's a 99 that was built in September of 98.Originally posted by bscott View Post
