Battery draining Problem

I have a brand new battery and if the boat sits for a couple of weeks, without running, it drains completely. It happend with the previous battery also. Once its running the alternator charges it just fine and it remains charged for a week or so. Any ideas on what could be draining the battery? Thanks.

Are you turning off the switch on the kick board to the all off position or are you switching it to the bilge pump on position?

I just noticed that the switch has been up on the auto mode. Will this drain the battery ? The boat is in dry storage so the bilge isn't running at all...

yes there is still draw on the battery. If you are going to leave the boat for an extended period of time, flip the switch to the middle so that the power is turned off.

If you are going to leave your boat for an extended amount of time in the water, then move the switch to the bilge pump position so the pump kicks on if it takes on water
