Oil pressure gauge shows no life

    2005 SANTE
    330 PCM

First time in the water. Starts up fine, idles fine. Revs up fine... water cooling normal, but the oil gauge does not even move when you start the boat or ever. The 1200 RPM light comes on, but I assume the computer thinks there is a pressure problem with the oil since the gauge is not registering anything?

Idled and rev the RPMs around at the dock for 10 minutes. If I really had zero oil pressure, Id assume my engine would be banging around with no oil and Id hear it. (nothing by the way.. smooth)

So it leads to be believe... bad gauge or bad sender.. or is there some other known issue with the oil pressure on these boats?

Anything else I should look for folks or are my assumptions completely off and I have a different problem?

    Thanks!

I think the 1200 RPM light is for the V-drive fluid pressure, not oil pressure. I think on your boat if you were actually having low oil pressure that you would be getting a low oil pressure message on your digital read out. These oil pressure gauges seldom fail but it's possible. Assuming it's not the gauge, it could be the oil pressure switch, sending unit or bad wiring/connecting in between. If you have a multimeter that can help you trouble shoot but chances are it's the switch or sending unit and as that other thread said you might want to replace both while you are in there.

yeah, I just figured out the 1200 rpm is the v-drive indicator. Im not at my boat right now, but I think you can go through the digital gauges and see oil pressure, hours, temp, etc. I did not check this to see pressure was reading digitally.
