    200V sport prop question.

I'm wondering if anyone has tried an acme 422 prop with the 409 motor. It was posted on another forum that this prop with the 343 still produced good hole shot and decreases the rpm's at ski speeds by 500. Any advice would be appreciated. My thoughts are better fuel economy and likely better wake.

You don't want to run the 422 on a 200V if you want the boat to go forward when you put it in forward gear, it spins the opposite direction. It's also the wrong shaft diameter and wrong pitch for a V drive boat.

As posted in the other thread:
There are two ways to reduce RPMs, more pitch or more cup. What prop do you have now?

For more pitch look for an Acme 381, it will keep the revs down with 17.5 pitch. I doubt the 409 will have any trouble pushing it under a 200V. I think they may have renamed the 13.5 x 17.5 prop

For more cup you could try an acme 1161, it has more cup but still has 16" pitch. It might spin more rpms at 25-35 than the 381 but it will probably be about the same at WOT.

You can also try a 14 or 14.5" diameter prop but I didn't like what they did to my wake. Since you are focusing on skiing you might want to stay with a smaller diameter prop.

Check with the Acme guys they can be very helpful, real folks answer the phone.

Don't forget to use the Planet Nautique discount at Delta Prop, they are also very helpful.

It should have had a 381 on it from the factory. The 409 sport sitting beside me right now is spinning a 381.
