    08 SANTE 210 Heater Help!

I just got back from my first outing of the year only to find a heavily leaking heater core under my dash. I assume the core is bad and I will need to replace it. I do have a few questions about repairs that I couldn't find in other threads.

    1) Until I replace the heater core, can I somehow bypass the water flow to and from the heater without hurting anything? I see there are two hoses from my engine block that run up to the heater and I assume those are flowing the water to and from the core. Would it hurt anything to simply bypass this whole line and hook up a short hose to and from on the engine block, and not send any water up to the dash?

    2) I have found the replacement core and was curious if anyone has attempted to climb up and under the dash to replace the core themselves? It looks challenging and awkward to get to

My 210 came with a Heater Craft H-200 series. Thanks guys

Yes could either bypass the heater as u describe I think or u could plug the ends of each hose and no harm. U are correct definitely a tight fit under there. U will also want to pop off the starboard side back rest in the bow when u attempt repairs, makes for somewhat easier reach of I remember correctly.

Next year when you winterize remove both hoses and use a shop vac to vacuum out the water from the heater. At that point you can pour antifreeze in one hose until it comes out the other using a funnel.

I put a couple of these in the heater hoses near the engine to keep the heat away from my cooler when I put the cooler in. Also works as a shutoff if there was a problem with the heater core.
