    Muffler rattle not against the hull

    Can anyone help on this noise? The muffler is not rubbing on the hull. I took it out last weekend added dense rubber to test with and gave it a good shake but didn't here anything.

    Most likely a loose baffle inside the hull hugger. Looking at the video, it seems as though this unit may have been previously been repaired as there looks to be a repair band around the middle, halfway between the inlets and the outlet.
    I had an issue following a backfire on a '99 Ski Nautique in 2006. The muffler split clean in half. It required internal repairs to the baffle structure before the outer casing was re-glassed. Is your engine in the video running on trailer or afloat??

            Sunday morning. A few more steps an some video's. Good thing it is snowing in Denver on May 11th. I might need tomorrow to finish up. Cold garage is slowing down the setup time. And if you use the heat gun don't use the engine cover as a table. I noticed the muffler getting warm on the bottom and almost burnt the vinyl on the cover.

              Pleased that you have found the problem. Looks like you are doing a good job with the repair. Quite time consuming but it will be worth it in the end as replacement hull huggers are not cheap.
