ZR6 oil filter?

Anybody running the ZR6 have a cross reference to an oil filter number? I have a feeling looking at it that is the same as the excalibur (Ford). I want to get it done this weekend and forgot to pickup a filter from the dealer.

yeah it is the same filter as the excalibur. It is really for a ford 350 so you can relay that when you go to the store.

Yep, MotorCraft FL-1A or equivalent.

I have a 211 excalibur and I thought it use the chevy 350 not ford. I think the autolite equivalent is PH5.

The new GM powerplants still use the Ford oil filters. (left over stock? Bigger/better filtering capibilitys?) PH8A is what the dealership said to use. Of course these numbers don't usually cross refrence, so as others have said look it up in the book to check.

PCM uses an oil filter relocation kit on their engines so that the oil filter can be easily reached. These relocation kits use Ford-based filters.

I am very glad that I was reading this thread earlier. I have 25 hours on my 211 and had planned to perform the initial oil change this weekend. My Kentucky Dealer informed me that the excalibur had a GM 350 which was correct; however, they also informed me that I should use the standard GM filter which was wrong. I would have been very disappointed had I taken the incorrect supplies down to the lake and not been able to change the filter before putting on additional hours over the 4th weekend. I confirmed with Bruce at Midwest Correct Craft and NautiqueJeff is correct. The excalibur has the oil filter relocation kit and uses a Ford based filter (go figure that out!). The cross references to the PCM part number are Motorcraft FL-1A or Autolite PH8A.

Dollar for Dollar, the Motorcraft filters are one of the best. I would stay away from Fram. Purolator IMHO is the best.

FL-1A is the ford model number, and all others should be referenced from this number.

They also use that filter on the chysler based engines. When ever I change t6he oil on a boat I write down hte hours and date that I changed on the oil filter with a permanent marker to keep track of when it was changed. But I second not using fram filters but use either a motorcraft, wix brand filter or a seirra filter.
