    Surge Brakes Fulton A60

Anyone have advice for how to adjust the sensitivity of surge brakes? These things are so sensitive I can't back up most of the time. Any stop engages them. Backing on even flat ground will make them go on. Most of the time every stop I make even if nursed to a stop engages the brakes enough that I can't set the lever to stop them from going on further and locking up the trailer wheels. Just getting in the driveway is a 3 to 4 step process of getting a rock and pulling forward to set the brake prevention lever. The lever falls off when the trailer tires go up the curb and again when the truck tires hit the curb. It's not a nice smooth curb which sure doesn't help.

Found a solution. The trailer had a 5 pin outlet. The truck has a 4 and 7 pin trailer connection. I was using a 5 to 4 pin adapter. I was midi formed about the 5th wire. I was told it actuated electric brakes. The 5th wire prevents the brakes from going not when the truck is in reverse. I found a 7 pin to 5 pin adapter and hope it works. Its all adding up but wonder if at some point I'll need to replace the shock in the surge brake system at some pin to make it less sensitive. It's nice when you can solve your own problems. Sometimes just posting something makes the answer appear in front of your nose.
