2001 SAN 502 Python No Fuel

The boat was running at the dock for about 30 sec. then died. Tried restarting it and noticed the low pressure fuel pump was not coming on for 3 sec. to prime. I have no voltage being delivered to the low pressure pump but the pump will run when you jumper 12v directly from the battery. There are two relays that are the same(HELLA 3611) 1 of them is for the fuel pump. I tried swapping the to around and still had nothing at the fuel pump. There are also two other relays(HELLA 960388-12) in the same area but from what ive been able to find so far have nothing to do with the fuel pump. Ive traced as much of the wire as I can see for a fuse or breaker but found neither. Finding any info on this PCM engine has been very limited. Any advise or direction to look would be appreciated.

Also, I forgot to mention Ive jumpered out the safety lanyard to rule that out.

If the relays didn't fix the problemb then just replace the pump it's not that expensive and not to difficult. I just had to replace my low pressure on my gt40. It took 10 minutes. But remember that those two relays 1 runs low pressure and 1 runs high pressure.

There are 3 red breakers on the back of the engine. Make sure they are reset. You need to push them several timesto reset. I had the same problem on my 2000SN with a GT-40. The mechanic said that as the LP fuel pump starts to go it trips the breaker. It isn't easy to see its tripped and sometimes doesn't click when reset. I don't remember which one it is. Sorry.

Those other two relays that are down low by the transmission are for the actuator to lift/lower the hatch.

I was hoping you hadn't already ruled out the safety lanyard and it would be a simple fix...ask me how I know....

Seems strange that the pump would kick on when you did the jump test if it was the pump that was causing the issue. I'd double check the wiring from the safety lanyard because that would explain why the pump is not getting power.

@Rick I don't know if its different for the 502 python but I only have 1 50amp breaker there and its ok because when it trips you cant turn the engine over.

@Banks, If I was getting 12v at the LP when you hit the start button the second time I'd agree about changing out the pump but without getting 12v there I have a hard time condemning the pump.

yes, i forgot to mention it in my post but there is only one breaker on the 502 Python.

Just because the pump turns on Doesn't mean it has enough pressure. Mine kicked on but it did t have enough pressure. Replaced it and works like a champ!

When you jumper the pump to the battery, does the engine actually crank and run?
If yes, then the fuel pump circuit should be checked.
If no, then I would take a look at the purple wire in the main 7-pin harness to the dash. I think the purple wire is the +12v switched signal that is sent from the ignition switch to the PCM. It appears to be used to power the MEFI system relay AND the fuel pump relay according to page 121 of the following manual:
