    Adding a 12 volt receptical

This is a dumb question but I can't seem to find the answer via Google so figured I'd ask here. I want to add an additional 12 volt receptacle to the cubby area under the combing pad in my boat. If I wire this directly to the battery (in-line fuse of course) will it draw any power when I don't have anything plugged into it? My thought is no but just trying to be sure I am not creating a potential battery drain when my boat is sitting during the week (no Perko switch yet). If it will drain the battery I will wire it to a switch. Thanks for your help!

It won't, but I would put it on the switch to avoid corrosion and keep the install clean

Thank you! I have a direct line from the battery to the receptacle spot running behind the combing pad that would keep the install clean.
