I just found out yesterday that you can silence the depth alarm on the Hummingbird depth gauge that was a factory option in the mid-late 90s. I like to set my shallow alarm to beep at 6 feet when I am on unfamiliar water so that I know if things start to get shallow. The only problem with this is that it would go off every time I would pull into the dock. My gauge is wired to an accessory switch so I would just shut it off when I was docking. I realized that if you press the Set button on the gauge that it will silence the alarm if it is sounding. The alarm will stay silenced until you go in deeper water and then back into shallow water a second time. This works with the Faria depth/temp gauge as well and that is where I got the idea to try it. Just thought I would pass it along.
