2014 230 Ballast Upgrade - Linc System Update

I have a 2014 230 currently with pro ballast and would like to upgrade to larger ballast bags. Is the Linc system capable of changing the ballast amount beyond the pro ballast option? Obviously there is a setting to change from stock to pro ballast so the display reads correctly. Is it just a 2 setting selection or can the bag size/weight be set?

If there is no capability in the Linc system, is the method to fill the bags beyond the pro ballast setup to just turn on the pumps manually once the system gets to the pro ballast full setting?

    Thanks!!

    Gary,

I've got this same setup. Ordered my 230 with the pro ballast option and swapped out the sacs from the factory with 550 lb sacs before it hit the water. The pumps will automatically adjust the fill/empty times based on your filling/emptying time spent.

On your 2012 did it automatically adjust as well? I have a 2013 with additional ballast.

what axeman said. you might however be able to get a code from a dealer to increase what your ballast tank readings are in the linc.

          Axeman,
Did the total weight change from 2100? What does the display show for max weight with the 550 sacs?

            Shockthis,

Not sure of pre-2014s. I didn't have additional sacs plumbed in before. This was something that came up during my demo with the dealer.

            Gary,

No, as far as I know there is no way to change that. Otherwise, I'm sure my dealer would have done it.

              Axeman,
Did the %full settings and readings adjust for the added volume? So is 100% now based on the new volume vs the factory setup?

What bags did you change to?

              Thanks!!

Percent full readings adjusted appropriately and that's what I use to "gauge" the weight I'm running. I replaced the 300 lb sacs with 550 lb sacs. You can replace them with 750 lb sacs but then you can't use the rear compartment trays (they'll need to be removed).

Ok.. on this post... are you guys experiencing the panels blowing out of the channels? If so, can you recommend how you reinforced them other than the wake makers bars which did not work for me...

You have to put pins in the side channels to keep the panels from riding up out of the bottom one.....

Yes... I had pins in AND oversized fat sacks that blew out the panels. Too much weight and heat caused the panels to bow and ride against the manifold. Its at the machine shop now in for repair. Will post pics of resolution.

Hmmm. I have 750s and haven't had an issue as long as pins are in.....

I had the dealer install the Wakemaker Engine Divider Panel Saver kit . I have 750 om a 2018 and have had no issues. If your not concerned about looks you can put a piece of plywood that comes up a 1/4 of the way . My buddy did that on his 2014.
