This might seem like a stupid question, but last weekend I set out to change the spark plugs, spark plug wires, distributor cap, and rotor. I was able to accomplish everything except changing the spark plugs. It looked like I needed to remove the exhaust manifolds to have enough room to get them out....am I wrong? I searched this forum and couldn't find any post where someone said they had to remove the exhaust components to gain access to the spark plugs. I tried using I believe it was a 9/16" deep socket, but it would not slip over the plug due to the exhaust manifold issue. Is there a different tool I need to be using or do I need to suck it up and remove the exhaust manifolds? Any advice or tips would be greatly appreciated. I have a 1995 Nautique Super Sport with a GT40 engine, V drive.
