I went out yesterday and I didn't have to pull up to engage my tranny on my throttle. I could just push the throttle back and forth. Can someone tell me exactly how to adjust that. Here is a picture of what I'm talking about.

RE: Throttle/transmission engagement--HELP adjusting
if you look down near the bottom of the control, there is a small square piece that locks the controll in the neutral position. (when you lift up on the do-hicky in the picture, the square piece moves out of the way)
i have the same problem and i didn't think there was a way to adjust - i just chalked it up to the piece being worn out.
so i'm very curious about responses to this thread.Current Boat ==> 2004 Ski Nautique 206, LOVE IT!

RE: Throttle/transmission engagement--HELP adjusting
There is no adjustment. However, I suggest you remove the throttle arm from the control. Remove the knob, remove the roll pin that holds the cog (worn out piece) in place. File the cog square again (you will notice that the corners have been rounded off) and reassemble. Should work like new again.

RE: Throttle/transmission engagement--HELP adjusting
Here is the fix;
Push the throttle all the way down. Unscrew allen head set screw. Throttle comes right off. There is a spring in there that was broken in half. Hammer out the little pin to take the assembly apart, replace the spring with a new one and your all set. VERY EASY fix!!!

The cog as stated is only slightly worn. My back plate (round plastic peice on the boat) has a notch in it where the cog goes is what is torn up. Looks like the older gentleman who owned the boat was probably not to gentle on this peice when trying to figue out how to get it in gear. Any one know if there are replacement parts available and where? Thanks,
Brew
