    Excalibur 330 timing

Ok I would like to thank this forum for getting me this far! Bought an 02' SANTE 210 with a cracked block. Had block replaced and rebuilt everything else. installed myself and cranked right up! Runs great at idle but around 2000-2100 rpms it starts to miss slightly, no power and makes a fluttering sound, if that makes sense. I found one loose plug wire and have new wires ordered. I don't feel like the engine would idle so well if the plug wires were the issue? I am leaning toward base timing not being right after a lot of research on this site. Any thoughts from better mechanics than me? Thanks!

Not exactly sure, but if I remember correctly, the base timing is not adjustable, but the cam retard is. It can only be set via the diacom software. I did have an issue with crossfiring on a brand new dist cap. Should be able to check each wire with an old school timing light looking for the same steady spark on all cylinders.

Thank you, am trying to eliminate everything besides timing. Ordered new plug wires and am going from there. Thanks again!

had similar issue, was CAM retard, need the diacom to adjust correctly( or check it is set correctly) by turning the distribtor until the correct setting is achieved.
