1995 GT40 low pressure fuel pump

    Hello,

I have a 1995 GT40. When I put the boat in the water for the first time this year it would not start. I eliminated the initial problem to the high pressure fuel pump. Now the boat will start but runs really bad at low rpm's. I tested the fuel pressure, it will build up to 40 PSI, then the engine will bog down and the fuel pressure will drop to 32 psi; while idling. If I rev the engine up to2000 rpm the engine will run smooth with 32-35 psi for fuel pressure. I do not have a FCC. I think it may be the low pressure fuel pump. I disconnected the low pressure pump and the engine runs and acts the same. So I was wondering if any one had any thoughts. Also, I was wondering if anyone had a part number for the low pressure fuel pump without the FCC. The only pumps I can find online appear to be for the motors with a FCC, also they have a different wire connection. My low pump has two wires that connect to two post on the pump.

    Thanks

Have you changed the relays ? I think I might have an extra low pressure fuel pump laying around if needed

I did replace the relays. I changed the spark plugs and that resolved the problem. I wouldn't have guessed that it would have been that simple. I think I may replace the low pressure fuel pump anyhow. This has been the second high pressure pump in three years. Thanks for the reply's
