Do I need PCM plug wires for a GT40 or will Ford automotive ones work as well?

When I tried to use automotive wires on my Excal 330, they were too short to fit around the risers. Not sure if this is an issue with the GT40, might be worth taking your old set with you to match lengths to avoid two trips to the auto parts store. I'm guessing a good place to start would be to check the wires for a 95 Mustang GT with 5.0L. Or maybe a 93 Ford Lightning.

Well, have to say I punted on this and ordered PCM wires from Nautiqueparts. At $55, the likely savings was not significant enough to do all the futzing around to figure this out. For grins, I may take my old wires to my parts store and see if they can match them just so we can ID what make/year/model auto plug might fit.2004 206 Air Nautique Limited - Black with Vapor Blue (family style)

You saved yourself some trouble for sure. It's not hard to find the 8mm wires off the shelf, but finding them in the right length with 90 degree boots on both ends is tricky. Best bet is to go to a race shop and have them custom cut. But at that point, I'm not sure you're saving much.1998 Ski Nautique (Red/Silver Cloud), GT-40, Perfect Pass Stargazer 8.0z (Zbox), Acme #422, Tunable Rudder.

After doing some price checking on likely automotive substitutes, they were all in the same price ballpark or more. This particular part does not seem subject to typical 'marine part tariff' you can see on other items.2004 206 Air Nautique Limited - Black with Vapor Blue (family style)
