    Suggestions/Recommendations for Prop Repair

Well running at the Lower Colorado has it's drawbacks....

While returning to a downed rider I hit an underwater tree. No dents or nicks to the prop but it did bend one blade rendering a substanial vibration. Does anyone have a recommendation for Prop repair? There's a shop here in San Diego County but I don't mind shipping and if anyone has any recommendations I'd appreciate it.

    Details:

    Acme 644 4 blade prop
I believe at least one blade is bent as the tip of all four blades can't make contact with a flat surface

All right. Cancel this post. I just read ActionCPD's post. I'm going local.

    Thanks,

I had the guys at Bay propeller redo my 644. I asked them to put a kick in the prop to drop the rpm by 200. The repaired prop is just a tad noiser than the new 644 I ordered, but Mikeski says that this new prop was the smoothest one he's ever tested. So I would give them a thumbs up!
they are in Alemeda, and you can call the number posted on the PitchOmeter website.

        RE: Suggestions/Recommendations for Prop Repair

Just to be clear, I was running Henry's new 644, not the one that had been repaired. After running 5 props in just over a month I will returning my new 536 for the 644.

Stock 380 (sport nautique prop) runs smooth slow holeshot.
Self repaired 380, after hitting debris in water, almost as good as new.
Repitched 380, better holeshot, runs noisy, sounds like turbulance is coming off the blades.
New 536, similar holeshot as repitched 380 but runs quieter, not quite as quiet as the stock 380.
New 611, good holeshot runs silent.

TylerO, Where on the lower colorado were you? Ive had a weekend getaway 15 miles north of Blythe on the river for over 15 years and have lots of experience trashing props in the area. At one point we pounded a spike in the ground 5 ft high and after 2 summers of low water the spike was full and our pockets were empty. Brightside: Bought my 1st Nautique in 96, had the original prop still in perfect condition til last May, then......well, DavidF has the boat now.
