Stopping hour meter @ FariaBus possible?

    Hi folks,

    I´ve a question.
It is possible to stop the hour meter at a 05 SANTE 210? (Excalibur 330 with Faria bus)
Reason for the question is, that I was ripped off by the seller of my boat last week.
The hour meter stand still at 1100 hours.
After this conclusion I read out the engine ECM with a friends TechMate and - surprise surprise - there are more than 3500 running hours :-(
    Any ideas?

    Henk

You know I am not totally sure about that year what system is in there..But this is what faria told me:

The hours are reported from the ECU to the gateway. Then the gateway send the information to the tach.

The tach simply displays the hours from ecu.

Disconnect the tach and no hours are logged. Did the PO advertize the boat being 1100 hours?

My engine Ecu went out and started my hours at zero on the gages. Had the dealer redo to be honest.

Yes, he is offering the boat with 1100 hours. Not a dealer but a private person.
The gauge is connected and shows the running hours but there is always the same value. All other functions in the LCD work if they should.
I think the communication between the ECU and Faria-Box is disconnected by fault or fake. That´s the question.

Is it logging hours currently? If so, it was reconnected at some point. If it is not logging hours or only intermittently doing so, it's something the seller should have noticed and noted in his advertisement. Of course, it's possible, that it was an intermittent problem that the seller overlooked. But given the discrepancy in hours, I think it's more likely that the tach went out at some point and was replaced. The seller appears to have tried to hide this fact.

. . . in my humble opinion without any facts or knowledge of the situation other than what you have given us.
