    Replacing oil pressure sending unit

I have a 2006 SANTE 210. I have been experiencing issues with sporadic "Low Oil Pressure" alarms on the dash; I've read several threads on this forum which describe symptoms very similar to what I am experiencing, and I am quite sure the issue is a malfunctioning oil pressure sending unit.

I haven't been able to find any information regarding where to find the oil pressure sending unit on the engine, or a rough set of instructions on how to change it (i.e. does the oil need to be drained, or does the unit sit high enough to remove with the oil system full? Is it simply threaded in?

Has anyone changed their oil pressure sending unit themselves? Any tips, info, or pictures you can share? I'm a novice home mechanic with basic skills, so if you feel this is a highly involved job with high potential for very costly mistakes, "Take is to the professionals" would be helpful advice.

I was having last few weeks this alarm myself on the 2008 210 and thought the same thing. It turns out the oil was just a bit too low. The dipstick was reading when getting the alarm 1/2 between add and full. So I thought it was fine. I topped it to just a wee bit above the full mark and no more problem. No alarm. I would suggest adding oil before replacing sender.

Page 23 or 24. Its on the block right above where an oil filter would go if the motor didn't have a remote oil filter

The oil was recently changed and the warning existed both before and after; the oil level is currently at the top of "full", so I don't think adding more is going to help in my case. Thanks for the information jhersey29 - I looked through the PCM manual but didn't know about this additional parts guide. Looks like it's pretty straightforward to change out - I'll give it a shot when the part comes in.
