the starter is not disengaging on 1985 sn2001 351 pcm.starter tore apart everything in excellent shape.ground from battery to engine removed all contacts cleaned in excellent shape.new solenoid from skidim put on.brand new 875 CCA battery installed.where to go to now?is there another ground?what side of solenoid is input and output if small starter connection on top?maybe ignition switch?will replace yet another solenoid tommorrow in hope of using boat for 4th of july.by the way if i tap the solenoid the starter will disengage.

some times overheat GT-40
Before my boat running at temp. near or going beyond 180F,for a period, I learned here (a helpful web) checked the raw pump,stainer,and hoses connections and sea water go in and out the heat exchanger,every thing seems ok and I changed the looks l good raw pump impeller, no help with all above,finally,according to some post, I changed the thermost w/147F instead the old 160F ,the temp.becomes 160f-170,nice for few times,in one day,while playing at the sea water temp.86F, 1,2 hour later, I noticed temp guage near 180F ,I throttle slow and then stop the engine, wait for cool down to 160, I open the coolant container careful with a 4 layer towel slowly, (my friend had hurt his stomach when he hury to open the overheat coolant cap recently) release pressure first at the click point, than open the cap,coolant boil out few spoon, the coolant become less, I fill up w/water, we can play the remain time at the day normaly,
I think it's ok, but doubt that why one time over heat happended.
I don't fix any thing but cheak engine oil level and v-drive it's normal,
I went next sunday, water tem 86F, running to our distination quite high speed,about 3000RPM,play 2 hour normal,I notice the temp guage 180F again, and little bit exceed,I throttle slower 2000-2200,temp came down to 175 and don't raise,if faster the speed RPM2400 up the temp raise obviousely,like last time I check coolant, level boing up,down later,I add little quantity water,run again,It's the same,higher speed,temperature raise soon,I went back dock limp speed,temp not too high, I check raw pump impller :fine,heatexchenger,hot,can't tough,I connect hose to supply water to the inlet of the heat exchanger,water go out from exhaust heatexchanger cooldown soon, I removed the hose,water flow back from the inlet,seems not very fluent path ,is that normal? I'm goint to check next tomorrow,If any body could shere experience this, very appreciated. :x
