I was recently boating in Pine Hollow Lake at womic, Oregon. When I first started the boat it idled very high and sort of pushed hard into gear. Then throughout the day it seemed to get better. Does the engine adjust automatically?

RE: More Information
2500-3000 rpms is EXTREMLY high. You risk doing serious damage to the transmission if you shift into gear at this engine speed. Something is obviously stuck or malfunctioning. What engine do you have? Carbureted or fuel injected? What year? Once we know this information, maybe we can help you troubleshoot.

RE: More Information
Sorry for the late reply, I didn't know it was answered. It is a 2004 Super Air, with the 330 Excalibur engine. I agree with the damage, I don't always look at the RPM gauge because it is so inconsistent. It is not until I hear it hit hard do I then so &*^%%$%^$$#$%% and then pump it quick two/three times in nuetral - it works some of the time. It doesn't matter if PP is on or Off. Any advice would be appreciated. I did look at the throttle cable and it doesn't look like it is sticking but.....
