    Stinky boat

Our 2012 210 sits on a hydro hoist and as usual there is a tiny bit of water in the hull I can't get out. Well now it smells like a dead animal. Any suggestions ?? Would Lysol liquid hurt the fiberglass ?

Lysol spray or liquid wouldn't hurt the fiberglass, however, mine does the same thing occasionally and I mix 1/2 cup of bleach to 1 gallon water and pour in the hull. I have had the best luck combining this process with raising the skids on the hydra hoist raising the nose higher till the water can drain freely out of the entire length of the hull. There are lots of products on line but it sound like you are having a mold problem.

I shop vac the bilge out, get as much water out as I can. It helps but won't solve it 100% in out climate. A guy down the cove from me is kinda of a jerry rigger and has a squirrel cage fan on a timer and dryer vent hose ran under his cover. He swears it helps with mold, spiders, smell and bet if I could stand to listen to him long enough he'd tell me it adds 5 hp.

I know a guy like that. . .I heard him to say that gin is an effective mosquito repellant as well and an after shave, mouthwash, weight reducer, figure enhancer, and can substitute as corrective lenses after several liberal applications.

Pump sprayer with bleach works good for that... The fan and moving air keeps mold from growing.

My bilge will not drain completely because of design. I started adding a good squirt of dawn when I put the plug in. It not only helped clean the bilge but gives a nice spring fresh smell. I know there are other biodegradable products safe for discharge into the lake. I will probably try to change to one of them.

Thank you for all the replies. I think I'll put the squirrel cage fan in that adds 5hp. Lol.
I'll shop vac it out tonight and sorry some stuff in there. I looked and don't see any mold

Being a new owner of a new 230 with no prior experience with Nautiques, I assume our 230 will have the same issue of stagnant remnants of water creating mildew smell over time. With the boat being brand new, any suggestions to avoid this being an issue? Anyone have experience with the new 230's?
