Port Side KeyPad Removal on 2000 SAN

I am in Colorado working away so my family can spend time at our lake house in Michigan in the summer. I had a few weeks up there so it was great but now we are having some electrical problems on the SAN and only my wife is up in MI with the kids. We think the issue is the PME or the port side keypad. NautiqueParts is going to bench test both parts for me so we only order what is broken so my wife agreed to remove the parts and FedEx them to NC. My wife who describes herself as deck fluff (meaning I do all the boat work and she just looks good on the boat) was able to get the PME off but she is having some problems with the port side keypad removal. She was able to get it out of the dash and disconnect the main wiring clip but there also appear to be another pair of black wires that go to the warning light on the keypad that she doesn't want to break.

Does anyone know how to remove these wires so she can get the keypad removed? I am sure I can figure it out but she cannot. Any help would be appreciated.
