Simple question before I attempt - replacing the Perfect Pass Gauge on '06 220

So my Perfect Pass Gauge has been intermittently going in and out since last year on my '06 SAN 220. It's on it's last leg now, and rarely stays on. The system itself works perfect without any issues. It's sets fine, and calibrates speed accordingly. However, the gauge is black. I spoke to my local Nautique dealer and their price was somewhere in the $500 range for the unit, and I found this to be too steep. After speaking to the guys over at Perfect Pass (really awesome helpful guys btw), the unit it only $200. Gary, the gentleman I spoke to told me the install is simple plug and play and shouldn't take too long as long as I know how to take apart the dash.

So I'm just posting here to find out if there is anything specific I need to do about installing this gauge. Is it simply unscrewing the two billet pieces holding the dash together? I haven't attempted this yet, but I'd like to go into it informed.

    Thanks for your help!

On mine, I had to pull the whole dash to get at back of gauges. wasn't hard, four fasteners, and pulling steering wheel off. The harness consisted of four plugs I think, and the whole dash was in my lap. Very easy work at that point. You should check for loose connections and any sign of corrosion while you are there too.

it's not hard to replace just the display. mine was doing the same thing, especially in high humidity. i believe some folks have had success opening the unit and drying it out or possibly re-soldering connections. that seems like a good price. i want to say i paid $400 for my wakeboard pro display from PP.

Pop the whole dash cap (4 big thumbscrews). Pop old gauge out, pop new gauge in. Pretty easy. Probably $200 for a single line and almost $400 for a 4 line gauge.

Flaudia is there any updates on this? I have the same boat/year. My gauge is starting to do the same.
