A couple years back our XMD2(or XMD1, I don't remember what we had, it was the stock unit) bit the dust. So we picked up a CMD6 knowing it wouldn't fit. Life has been full with 4 kids under 10 running around so I'm just finally getting it installed. I designed up an adapter plate and had it made out of aluminum. It seems like it will work great and it is sturdy so the radio isn't going to move around. I think this would work from any XMD series to any CMD series radio.

If people are interested I could look into getting more made up.

Been there like right now. Can't see at all what I am typing. Tapatalk gets pretty messed up on my Nokia phone. Also replying is so hard when you can't see what you typed or there is no display of the typing because its behind the keyboard.

AirJeff: I have a 2001 Sport Nautique and I want to replace my XMD1 with a CMD8 Clarion and I have the same problem. I need a template which I can not find anywhere. Could I purchase one of the templates you have posted if not could you lead me to the source? Thanks GMLIII
