1992 Ski Nautique gel coat patch kit

Hello all... I am the new owner of a 1992 Ski Nautique that has some gel coat cracks on the nose by the lift ring. I assume the previous owner attached a wakeboard pole cable here instead of the winch loop. We have already installed a tower so that won't be an issue.

I called nautiqueparts and asked for a couple of gel cost patch kits for when i Dremel out the cracks and fill them with gel coat. The parts guy said the earliest year of silver cloud gel coat they stock is 1993. Does anyone know how close this gel coat matches what was used in 1992?

    Thanks in advance,

    Dwight

Even if you could get the exact same formula gelcoat that was used on your 1992 boat, your boat has 22 years of the sun fading the boats gelcoat, and it would not match.

Right. My question I guess is how close is it going to be? Or did Nautique change the gel color substantially when they made the major switch in 1993

I used a silver cloud kit on the nose of my 99. I have never done any gel work previously, but watched some videos and followed the instructions carefully. Even I cannot tell where the repair was made anymore

I used silver cloud on my 2001 and even on the underside of the hull where there wasn't much fading It didn't match perfect. Had a slight peach color to it. But it was good enough for me.
