anyone tried autolite 103s in their GT-40?

Everyone here seems to be on board with the hotter 764's to replace the extinct 763's, even though the Autolite 103 should be the direct replacement plug for the GT-40. Has anyone tried them or been using them?

The plugs are the same, the only difference is one is threaded halfway up and the other is threaded all the way.

Yes, and according to Autolite the half thread versus full thread makes no difference. That being said, I find it a little odd everyone seems to be using a hotter plug than specified when a direct replacement is available.

If you go to Autolite’s site and punch in the 103 in part search, then go to applications under Ford or PCM the 5.8 is not listed anywhere but it is listed under the 764????
Plus the Competitor Cross Reference under the 764 is strictly motorcraft???
