    Vibration under load

I pulled the boat out of the water about two weeks ago. It had no problems when I pulled it out. I towed it about two hours home and I put it back in the water today. Under hard acceleration there is a extremely noticeable vibration in the boat. It happens if I'm accelerating hard from idle or if I am Excellerating to a higher speed - like over 30.
It's severe enough that you would know not to push it. The boat does fine at lower speeds.

The only maintenance I did in the last two weeks was to replace the potentiometer (which I did not have calibrated yet) and the oil sensor. I have no idea how this ding got in the prop

I noticed this ding in the prop and I'm wondering if this is the cause of it or if it's possibly the unalibrated potentiometer.

    Thanks

I am honestly surprised that you don't notice the vibration at lower speeds. That being said, that prop damage would defiantly cause vibration. Late last year I had damage to a prop and used a needle nose vise grip to work it back as close as possible. That worked well enough to save the rest of the season for us all the way up to wakeboard speeds - you may be able to get by with the same and replace/repair it in the off season.

Props can be fixed for a lot less than a new one. Ask you dealer for a reference. If all else fails give performance prop in Soddy Daisy TN a call. The fix props from all over the country. It will look brand new when done but more importantlty function like a new one.

Acme also returns it to factory specs as well. Acmemarine.com. What is the red stuff at the end of the shaft support next to the prop?

I was going to ask the same thing? Did you get a rope caught in the prop? If so, could also have some bearing sleeve wear.

            Vibration under load

your vibration is probably the prop. I bent one, had it fixed local to where I was and it looked brand new. Had a vibration at high speeds and took the boat to the dealer after I got back and they found the issue was the prop wasn't fixed right. Sent it to their shop and the issue went away. Not knocking the first guy because he helped me at the moment on a Saturday, just saying it doesn't take much for the prop to be out.

Also second the advice to fix it. Much cheaper and provided it's done right, good as new. I also bought a rebuilt prop the dealer had as a backup and to give me a little more hole-shot.

The red stuff is the remains of an nylon rope that wasn't pulled up when I said "son, pull the rope right so I can backup". Apparently I needed to also say "keep it tight as I backup".
That's not new though - but obviously something I need to tend to (I hadn't noticed it til you guys mentioned it).
I'll pull the prop and get it repaired.
Any special tools or tips needed to pull it off?

I've never removed my prop but have found this video as I hope to replace my prop this week:

I just called the local repair shop and they said they rarely use a prop puller if any kind and he's done hundreds. He said a rubber mallet is all the force he's eve needed

I just changed to a different prop this summer, bought it from Acme, along with a weekend saver kit. It comes with a puller and everything you need to change out your prop. They have a video on their site on how to change your prop, with the puller it's really easy, mine came off super easy, mind you, I have read some horror stories on this site about prop removal. One thing to remember though is, when you put your block of wood in the prop to keep it from turning when your taking the nut on or off, I'd keep the board as close to the hub of the prop as possible. If you keep it out to the edge you stand a good chance of changing the angle dynamics of the prop. My .02

Make sure to leave the nut on by at least a thread. That thing will fly off and hit the ground, trailer, or you balls if you are straddling it at the time. don't ask!
