Perfect Pass / Zero Off and those familiar with PCM engines 05 through 08 - Chime in!

    Hi everyone,

I've been calling around from dealer to dealer and I can't seem to get a straight answer. My local dealer swears up and down that perfect pass will work with this boat, while perfect pass themselves says there is no way. I was hoping someone with specific knowledge about the different systems can help set this straight.

My boat is a 2005 SV 211 with a 2014 PCM 343 (same engine placed in this boat from 08+). I have a 2008 model gateway in my boat.

Is there a way to adapt the existing perfect pass system from 05 to my new engine/gateway or is my only option to switch to Zero Off.

    Thank you!

PM Jodi Seal on this one (teamseal), or find him at http://www.floridainboards.com

He'll give you accurate info. I do know an '08 Excal can take both ZO and PP, but I'm not sure if there was an ECM update since '08 that would prevent PP from functioning. ZO has the contract on all DBW engines, which could be why PP themselves say it's not possible?

A 2008 Gateway Box may or may not have PP inside. Depends on if the boat it came from had ZO or PP. The two gateway boxes have different part numbers with the PP version much more expensive than the one without it. The ZO specific gateway model has no speed control software inside while the PP version has PP software inside. The 343 engine ECM should be able to be flashed for either PP or ZO if you send it to PCM and tell them what you are doing. (Look at the gateway boxes at Nautique Parts).

I bought the one without the PP software inside. How do I get Zero Off to work with this boat then? I've sent a couple messages to Zero off but have yet to receive a response.
