    PerfectPass and Check Engine Light

I had an issue today with PP. I have a 2006 SANTE and have already replaced the PP due to the display disappearing. I got a new one that looks different but works the same.

Today the display on it began to distort. I also noticed that none of the buttons responded, so I turned off the engine (still had power to the dash), disconnected PP and re-connected it. Right after, the Check Engine Light (CEL) came on and stayed on until I killed power at the battery for a few minutes (I had to keep power off for a few mins - simply killing it and re-applying it had no affect).

So it appears that PP is somehow connected to my issue of the CEL, but it's kind of a mystery to me exactly how integrated in it is. I think I tried disconnecting it totally one time and the boat would not run - details are fuzzy though.

So any info as to if the CEL and the PP were indeed related would be great. And if I ever had to bypass PP totally, is that possible.

    Thanks
Working...
