leak in back of engine

There is a grey fluid leaking out of the back of my engine. I do not believe it is motor oil - but it must be? and it is not coming out of the transmission. I circled where the fluid seems to be coming from and where it is dripping to.

Has anyone seen this before?

Where does that hose go ? A bigger pic showing the entire engine would help.
