New idea on engine dividers.. Thoughts

    I have an 05 210. With 750 sacs

On my todo list this winter is adding some divider support.

I have not been a big fan of the cross brace simply because I like the idea of getting in the trunk easily if on the water.

I have replace the bolts with clip pins so I can get to the motor with no tools if needed.

With that being said I have searched this topic several times and it comes to cross braces or HDPE which I I kinda question as well based on price and it still may bend.

    So...

Has engine tried replacing the aluminum channel with a deeper channel?

Like a 1 inch wide by 3 inch tall?

My only fear with this is that it may just deform the divider or bust it.

Thoughts or people who have done it?

The approach Ive see most take when getting after this is 1" square aluminum bracing on the insides of the panels, spaced approx 10" apart, ran up to approx 1/4" of where the current tracks envelope that 1/2" of the divider panel down into its grove....on the engine side of the panel.

Im not sure what that has to do with getting in the trunks easily like you referenced... I dont think it has anything to do with it or would affect it at all.

Some have taken a quick approach and left 90deg cuts on the sqare tubing, others have done 45 deg slope cuts on the ends and put plastic caps to fit and give it a finished look.

Ive considered it as I have 1100s plumbed in mine... but honestly a panel jumping the track has no affect or damage on anything else. Its purely a cosmetic issue. perhaps if the belt or a pulley was spinning close by and would rub it would become a "must do".

2008 sante 210 It has never been in the way. Does NOT attached to the divider itself, so just pull the oem pin and pull divider ight out.
