Ballast buttons reversed after pump replacement!

    I have a 2010 Super Air Nautique 210TE Coastal Edition with Crusader 6.0L ZR-409

So I have the port side ballast pump replaced since it was corroded and seized. And after the port side ballast pump replacement the buttons for the starboard and belly ballast pump are reversed! I didn't touch the other 2 ballast pumps wiring, and how could this happen?

So now if I want to fill the starboard and belly tank I actually have to hold the button for empty mode with flashing blue lights???

Ballast puppy's allow you to reverse the pump heads. You can easily fix by removing two bolts, turn the head 90 degrees, and put bolts back in. You will need to remove the hoses from the head and reattach.

I am not sure how this could have happened if the pumps in question weren't touched but wouldn't flipping the wiring on the back of the switches accomplish the same thing that Chexi is suggesting? Flipping wires might be easier than getting the hoses on and off.

Depends on the switch. If contura switches like we retrofitters, it's easy.

Also, original poster said pump was replaced. Original might have been installed with pump head reversed, or replacement might have been installed with pump head reversed.

Note, if you have the contura switches, if there is enough slack in the wire, you can simply pop out the switch from the surround, rotate it 180 degrees, pop back in and then take the switch cover off and rotate it 180 degrees (assuming it is labeled). If it's not labeled, no need to rotate the switch cover.

Personally, I'd take a look at the pump head though. It's pretty easy to get the hose off of these puppies (at least the johnsons). Don't need to heat them up or anything. I did this at the beginning of the season on two pumps when I flipped the orientation of all my pumps for easier access to the impellers. It was very easy. Really depends on how easy your access is to your pumps. If access is easy, all you need is a screwdriver and 3 minutes.

at the end I just switched the wires around. I have also added a piece of pexi glass above the 3 ballast pumps because the water from the deck will drip down on the ballast pumps and corrode them in time.
