    2008, 210 heater problems

My heater does not appear to work. All summer my family complained about the heater blowing cold air. My neighbors MB Sport blows very warm air. Last year when I winterized the boat, I blew the heater out with air, then completely filled it with RV antifreeze just in case. This year when I went to blow it out I actually blew some of last years pink fizzy RV antifreeze out of it! Kind of sucks that a factory installed option like this doesn't even work? Do you have to install the circulation pump inline to get these things to heat? Is there a way to get the water pump to actually pump water through the heat exchanger, or is the fact that we are pumping from the intake manifold through the heater to the water pump, and not to a radiator like in a vehicle the reason it doesn't work? It must be roughly the same pressure, and the lines just stay static? If anyone has a heater that works, could they take pictures of where the hoses connect to the engine and water pump.
    Thanks!

I just installed mine a few weeks ago and works pretty **** well with no circulation pump. If you have the low idle wye then you won't have a connection to the "water return". If you have no circulation and it is hooked right, I kind of wonder if you have some shut off valves somewhere. But you shouldn't have shut off's if it is a factory install.

The factory installed heaters I have had including the one in my 2013 has a shut off valve so I agree, check the valve. It is located where the hose carrying water or antifreeze branches off the cooling system to go to the heater.

Yeah as others have said do check to make sure your shutoff isn't closed. You should be getting decent warm air while underway. I've got a 08 also and got decent heat running but crap while idling that's why I put a pump inline which now works fantastic! The y valves also work good I guess ask Scottb about install of the Y

I have a 08 210 with factory heater . I have never seen any valve . The hoses are connected to the top of the intake and the engine water pump. It works great except at idle. I can post pics if you need.

I don't have any valves, I've blown it out twice now, and can easily fill it with antifreeze until it comes out of the return line.

I can see how the y should work, hot pressured water to the heater, cooled water being sucked into the water pump, makes sense.

Thanks all, hey scottb7 do you have some pics of the way the y is installed? I cannot seem to download the PDF, thanks!

Here you go...Not much to it. Take a knife cut the hose, take a wire cutter, cut the wire strand of hose. Put in wye and clamp 'er up....

Very accessible right there on top for winterizing. You can see the other hose going by towards the manifold.

I really like it. While driving I like to hold the vent on my face and neck. My friend when he drives likes to just let it blow on his feet.

Disconnect one of the heater hoses and crank the engine to see if you water flow.

Anyone have ideas on what to check for heater not blowing? Keypad is on, heater button is pushed and green light is lit, wiring harness is plugged in, no blower action though. Tried "tapping" on blower motor. Disconnected and reconnected wiring harness. Tried depressing breaker but it wouldn't reset to "out" and since it is at the same level as other breakers, I figure it is set correctly. Breakers are on the "replaced w/new" brain box under drivers dash pod, in a 2000 Ski Nautique. Thx

Check for voltage at the blower motor.
