Plastic Cap in the Gas Tank

    I have a 1978 Ski Nautique.

While winterizing my boat, I dropped a plastic cap into the gas tank (real smooth). It was a little over an inch in diameter, hard plastic from a small gas caddy.

Is this something I need to worry about? Recommendations on how to proceed?

If it got all the way to the tank I personally would try to not let it bother me. I realize a very different boat, but in below thread is pic of pick up. Highly doubt what you dropped in could decrease flow enough it did get positioned next to this pickup. It would be just one circular shape up against another.

I had a '79, it is not hard to get the tank out if you want to drain it and retrieve the cap. Would be a good time to replace fuel lines as well.

I don't think the cap will cause issues.
