G23 trailer surge brake lockout different than manual - HELP

2014 G23 and I have an EZ Loader trailer. I am trying to put it in the yard and back it up using a Honda side by side with no electrical connection for the trailer lights / brakes. Of course with no electrical when you back up the surge brakes lock up. Should be no problem as you use the slide lockout thing to effectively turn them of. HOWEVER the trailer is different than the owners manual / directions show. The slot where the pin slides is behind the trailer "sheath." So the pin will not fit in there. Actually, I can't see how you can get anything back in there to keep the surge brakes from activating. Anybody have any suggestions? I'm stuck in the yard.

You don't have the right lock out tabs. Yours would slide in that 1/32" space between the silver coupler and the back frame, on each slide like a U. The tabs would hook on those 2 black painted over pins/bolts there in your photo. Call EZ and have them send you the correct tab.

and careful, you are 1500-2000 over the limit of that ball mount and hitch

Look at the coupler manufacturer. It's a Tie Down, etc. Call them directly. They may be able to explain a work around or ship the lockout parts. E-Z Loader uses many suppliers so better to go to the coupler source.

In the meantime you can supply 12 volt power to the back up one with a garden tractor battery or something....

I have it on my side by side for the trailer only to park it. But I didnt notice the weight limits on the ball mount as I use that on the truck too (in the rare times I haul it.) ill have to check em. Thanks for the heads up.

thedude: I normally ride the west fork of the upper san jacinto river near Kingwood. I'm on Lake Houston.

Overall thanks for the advice. Ill contact the manufacturer. In the meantime for anyone in a pinch that may search this thread in the future: I used a C Clamp to hold the trailer from sliding while I backed it up. (Well actually I used a prop puller and a block of wood b/c that was all I had handy but either way it worked to park the thing.)

These are the lockout clips I was describing.... Slide right in between the coupler and the trailer frame where it slides on each side.

Thank you very much for the images. This is very helpful as the owner's manual doesn't describe how to back up without power to the trailer and doesn't list this part in the blow out diagram. Hopefully the trailer manufacturer can provide me with the needed part.
