    Flush Pro or simply disconnect?

I was looking at the Flush Pro and when I checked my boat (2005 SANTE) there is not a ton of room to put this inline anywhere. Is there a reason why I would simply not just put in a brass fitting inline with a valve to redirect to a garden hose?? Seems easier and safer than a piece of plastic. The other reason is that I want to be able to suck RV fluid from a bucket to winterize the beast easier.

Thoughts? I'll post a picture of my 92 that had a "T" fitting inline with a brass screw top. Click image for larger version

The nice thing about the flushpro is that it has an automatic spring loaded valve in it to shut off the through hull so the water doesn't take the path of least resistance instead of going into the motor. You can accomplish that by shutting off your actual through hull fitting but with this valve there is much less chance of starving the boat for water by accidentally forgetting. Being clear also allows you to see the water flow especially if you can't see the strainer from where its located. I also worry about it cracking or leaking and I had to remove a short section of hose to install it. In case there are any leaks I keep a pool hose connector like the one pictured in my tool bag so I could splice it back together to avoid getting towed in.

My last boat had a fitting right next to the raw water pump a lot like your picture and it was pretty easy to use and it sure would be cheaper.

You guys see any reason why I should not use this barbed T inline on the 1 1/4" side of the strainer if I can keep it away from engine? Im trying to find a brass one, but not much luck yet
