Accually the ford has a similar starter to a chevy where it has a solinoid mounted on top of the starter to engage the bendix into the flywheel and allow the engine to turn over, and also bothe the gt-40 and excaliburs have what is known as a slave solinoid which is used between the key switch and the starter, the gt-40 is mounted to the plate that the ecm is mounted to under the edge on the bottom, the one on the excalibur is mounted under the red or silver color cover on the engine and it is together with 2 other relays that control the power to the ecm and fuel pumps the one for the starter has two yellow wires with a red tracer coming out of it.
