anyone add a battery isolator to a 330PCM?

I am getting ready to add an isolator, to manage charging batteries, but there is no good info on the type of alternator these PCM 330 excaliber motors use. It makes a difference if they are externally regulated or require external exitation. I have a Sure Power 12023a isloator, with an external exciter pin(which I may not need to use)

any tips?

I have a Stinger relay which I put in between my two batteries. The Perkos are setup so, that the two batteries are NOT connected, more on this later. I basically have a 4 gauge wire from my main battery to the relay and then from the other side of the relay I have 4 gauge wire to the 2nd battery. I trigger the relay off a ignition wire from the engine compartment. Then the battery is completely isolated from the boat when the boat is off. (I run all my stereo equipment from the 2nd battery, including the deck) Then when I start the boat I'm charging both batteries.
If I ever drain the main battery I can switch over the Perko switch so, that I'm either in parallel or on the second battery for starting.

Dual Batts

Problem with most isolators is that you lose a volt when you split the power. I have been running a continuous duty solenoid for years as described by the mc guy. Fool proof! http://www.colehersee.com/catalog_top/index.htm
