OK guys need some info on my port side ballast gauge. Today when we were out I noticed that the gauge was reading that the tank was full of water but it wasnt. The tanks were empty. What could this be. The boat is an 04 SAN LE. I know I should take it to the dealer but I hate taking my boat to them if it is an easy fix. My first though is that the sending unit has gone bad. Any way to test this. Thanks in advance for the help.

RE: Port side ballast gauge problem
There are a couple of quick things that I would check. First is the wiring at the gauge itself. It is pretty easy to get to. Just lay down on the floor and look up under the panel wth the ballast gauges. Make sure all of the wires are tight, and that none of the connectors are touching eachother. Check the same thing at the sending unit. You might also try lightly tapping on the sending unit, just incase it smoehow got stuck in the full position.
