2001 Super Sport starts then dies 2 sec's later...

Hello all!, I have a problem. My 2001 Super Sport has the typical keypad issue. Sometimes it starts, sometimes it doesn't. Now iit has progressed. The boat starts, stays on for maybe 2 seconds, then it dies. My wife claims that if she keeps her thumb on the start button , it won't die.?. What is wrong, and is this something I can fix myself? Thanks

And if you lost the thing that presses the button inside the safety leach, a dime will work just fine. That's what my uncle uses for his. hehe.

I need to lay off the sauce

Let's hope this is the only problem, it was unplugged, unbelievable. My bad.
Thanks for pointing out the obvious. Are you sure you weren't on my boat!

Also check you RUN circuit breaker in the drivers side foot well. Sometimes mine trips and the boat will start but just momentarily.
