Have any of you guys put a cd player in any of the older SN? I am having trouble picking the best location. The observer seat blocks the dash so no good there, but I thought maybe rigging up a way to mount it in the glove box or maybe a cage type system to hang it under the dash would work better than cutting into the boat. Any info will be greatly appreciated!

I used a white plastic radio enclosure available from Overtons (and other mail order stores) that is a total enclosure for a single size Din radio with a clear waterproof front. http://www.overtons.com/modperl/over...item_num=71425 I then took out my observers seat and mounted the plastic encloser to the base plywood for the seat. I mounted it so that when the seat was installed for the observer to 'observe' the radio was right by my left finger tips. So, the radio is mounted between the floor and the base of the seat, on the side by the driver.
I installed the radio and wired the system so the cables came out of the batter compartment into the back of the radio. Yes, it leaves cables on the floor, but if you purchase some shrink tubing, you can put all the cables into one sleeve and then heat it up and have only one cable on the floor. I put two foam pads between the top and bottom of the radio (inside the enclosure) and left the back open for air circulation and everything worked for years and never had any skipping problems. Once you memorize the buttons on the radio, you will be good to go. Or get one of the newer head units with wired remote capabilities.
