GT 40 dies out

Hi
I own a 98 GT40 SN with 450 hours.

Sometimes, when I ski (34 mph) the engine suddenly dies out completely.
It restarts after cranking some time.

I took the boat to the mechanic (not a CC dealer as we don’t have a dealer in Spain) and he changed the fuel filter, remove the antisiphon valve on the gas tank and checked the rubber tube that connects to the high pressure fuel pump inside the cannister and then he measured the pressure out of the fuel pump with the boat going 36/38 for several minutes. He said it was very good and he could not reproduce the problem.

I went to the course and the problem is still there, it only happens when we ski 34 or 36 mph.
I’m lost.
Any thoughts?

Adrian weird question but does any one ride with thier feet against the engine hatch? Because if you push hard enough you can kink off the hose from the low pressure fuel pump to the FCC, hard problem to diagnose if you are the only one in the boat when the customer has two or more people in the boat.

No, this past weekend I was skiing (I'm the customer) with my wife driving and my 2 little children in the boat, they are too small to reach the engine hatch.

Yep, those intermitent problems are hard to diagnose because usually when the mechanic is testing the boat everything works properly. I guess our dear nautiques are a little afraid of mechanics as they know they can't cheat them and they decide to behave... 8-)
And thinking when the boat is going to stop is not the way to ski the course.

Check the connections on Both of the relays behind the motor. I had a loose connection on mine and it would do what you are saying at the 34-36mph range.
