    Trans. Drain Plug

When changing the oil on the trans. (Borg/Warner 10-17) is the drain plug the one where the cooler hose is attached on the bottom of the casing?
My manual says there is a "screen" on the 10-17 that you have to clean as well (?) Am I confusing that with the intake screen (raw water)?

i have not dug to deep, but the screen is on the pickup inside the tranny. not the raw water filter screen.

i have always just sucked it out with a hand pump.

it would be nice to add a drain kit to the tranny like the engine oil drain.

i have a deep sump pan on my 351 and the only time i could add the drain kit was when the motor was out.

i will correct myself. the screen is at the cooler line. i would still suck it out by hand.

Great Idea.... Didn't even think about sucking it out. Guess that would be a lot easier than messing with the drain. We use to have a Ski Centurion growing up, and it had a tranny leak in the pick-up line for a long time. Hate messing with plugs like that!
